Cybertruck Dual Motor Now Starts at $74,990, $15,000 Over Its Launch Price. Outfit It Before the Scratches Start
By EV Bandit | Updated October 8, 2026
Tesla's entry-level Cybertruck now costs $15,000 more than it did the week it launched. The Dual Motor AWD debuted in February at $59,990, went to $69,990 in March, and electrive reports it moved to $74,990 in late August. Motor1 and Not a Tesla App confirm the same $5,000 jump, and Electrek's October 7 report still lists the trim at $74,990.
Premium AWD rose to $84,990. Cyberbeast stayed at $99,990. The gap between them is now $15,000.
That is the news. Here is the opinion: when the sticker climbs this far, the first scuff on a stainless-steel truck gets more expensive to live with. None of what follows changes the price, and none of it is required. It is the short list of places a Cybertruck takes daily wear, with the real price of each fix.
What changed, what it means, what to do
| Trim | Before | Now | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dual Motor AWD | $69,990 | $74,990 | +$5,000 |
| Premium AWD | $79,990 | $84,990 | +$5,000 |
| Cyberbeast | $99,990 | $99,990 | No change |

What it means for owners: the cheap way in is gone, so more of the people reading this either just took delivery or are about to. What to do: spend a small slice of that $74,990 where the truck meets the world.
1. The floor: all-weather TPE liners

Mud, salt and slush end up on the floor first. These are molded liners covering both rows, so spills stay in a tray you can hose off rather than in carpet. They are the most expensive item here and the one most owners will notice daily.

2. The tailgate step: a rear bumper and sill cover

Everyone sits, steps and drags gear over the tailgate edge. This TPE cover is sold to protect that step. One caution: the same listing also carries Model 3 variants at $46.99, so pick one of the Cybertruck variants.
3. The glass: plastic screen protectors

Two displays, two fingerprint magnets. The listing is for a 2024 Cybertruck and sells each screen size separately, so add both if you want both covered. Because these are plastic film rather than tempered glass, expect a lighter feel and less impact resistance.
4. The console: a magnetic under-screen organizer

Small items rattle and slide. A fitted organizer with a rubber mat gives phones, cards and cables a place to sit. It solves a tidiness problem, not a protection one.
One more for the dog

If a four-legged passenger rides in back, this rear seat cover is the stocked option.
The honest tally
The four main items together come to roughly $395 to $460, depending on which screen sizes and finishes you choose (floor liners $179.99, tailgate cover $99.99 to $109.00, screens $45.00 to $47.99 each, console organizer $69.98 to $79.99). That is about half a percent of a $74,990 sticker. Whether it is worth it depends on how hard you use the truck. If you tow, haul and camp, the floor and tailgate pay for themselves first. If it is a commuter, the screens and organizer matter more.
