Common Questions
Do I need the wiring harness?
Only if you are towing a trailer and need trailer lights. For bike racks and cargo trays, the hitch alone is all you need. The harness requires the factory (OEM) tow package.
Will it interfere with my hands-free liftgate?
No. The EcoHitch is the only LYRIQ hitch with Sensor Safe™ design that keeps the hands-free kick sensor fully working.
Can I use it for a bike rack and for towing?
Yes. It is a true rack and tow combo with a standard 2 inch receiver, so it works with your existing accessories without adapters.
Is it strong enough for e-bikes?
Yes. The 400 lb tongue weight rating handles heavy e-bike racks without extra straps. Racks and cargo trays extend the load away from the hitch, which reduces usable tongue weight, so confirm your full setup stays within limits.
How visible is it?
Only the receiver shows. The cross tube is fully hidden, and the receiver can be removed when not in use.
Can I install it myself?
The hitch bolts on with standard hand tools, but on the LYRIQ the rear fascia needs a precise cutout for the receiver. Getting that cut clean is the difference between a factory look and a mistake you see every day, so we strongly recommend professional installation.
Installation
100% bolt-on to the vehicle, with a fascia cutout required for the receiver. The wiring harness plugs into your LYRIQ's factory tow socket. A shop experienced with the LYRIQ typically completes the job in a few hours.

Always refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual to determine its maximum towing and tongue weight ratings. No aftermarket hitch or accessory can increase your vehicle’s factory-rated towing capacities.
Using hauling accessories like extensions, cargo trays, bike racks, or other accessories that extend the load out from the trailer hitch, will significantly reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch system.
