Intel-Based Teslas Got No Halloween Mode. Four Analog Upgrades for the Cabin the Software Skipped
By EV Bandit | Updated October 11, 2026
Tesla's new Halloween Mode does not run on older Intel-based cars, according to the release notes as published by Not a Tesla App. Those notes tag the feature for AMD hardware, and the outlet's October 9 report says it "is not supported on older, Intel-based vehicles." The same week's visual refresh, per Tesla Oracle, also skipped Intel Atom cars. We keep the full sourced breakdown in our Intel versus Ryzen ledger.
Tesla's own Halloween package, per Teslarati, is a ghost-costume car graphic, spooky sounds and a light show. None of that is coming through a physical part. Here are four things that are, for the 2017 to 2023 Model 3 and Model Y cars most likely to be on Intel hardware. We also covered a different Halloween angle in our trick-or-treat timeline.
1. Ambient footwell and puddle lighting

The listing covers the Model 3 from 2017 to 2023 and the Model Y from 2020 to 2023, with footwell, glovebox, puddle and trunk fitments. One fitment note matters: cars with a standard or partial premium interior have no LED lights in the front or rear footwells to replace, so check your Interior Lighting settings first.

2. Brighter bulbs where the factory light is dim

This kit replaces the factory trunk, frunk, puddle, footwell and glovebox lights with brighter LEDs and no pigtail wiring. It solves a different job from item one: visibility, not mood.
3. Protect the older screen you are keeping

If the software is not changing your screen, a protector at least keeps it clean and scratch-free. The $27.99 listing is for 2017 to 2023 Model 3 and Model Y; the $39.99 tempered glass option is a separate listing. The listings differ in price, and we are not claiming either is better. Our 2026.38 screen guide has more.

4. Portable light for the driveway

These are camping lights, not Tesla-specific, and they are the cheapest way to light a porch or a hatchback on October 31. They hang from a carabiner, so they work with any car.
What this means for owners
Check your computer first: Vehicle Options, Software, Additional Vehicle Information, per Not a Tesla App. If it says Intel Atom, you are not getting Halloween Mode this year, and nothing we found says that will change. Whether Tesla adds any of it later is unconfirmed.
