Kody Pivoting Bike Rack License Plate Holder
Keep your license plate visible when your bike rack is loaded for travel or folded up for storage. The Kody Technologies pivoting license plate holder mounts directly to the end of a compatible rack and lets you adjust the plate for either position.
This standalone holder works independently of Kody's main lighting system. Choose the mounting option for your exact rack and add optional license plate illumination.
Choose your configuration
- Holder only — $149: Pivoting plate holder without the plate light or plate-light mounting bracket.
- With plate light — $199: Includes the holder, additional light mounting bracket, plate light and two-pin SAE extension cable.
The optional plate light uses the vehicle's four-pin trailer connection through the SAE cable. Your vehicle must have a suitable trailer wiring connection; a vehicle wiring harness is not included. The plate light illuminates the license plate only—it does not provide brake, turn-signal or tail-light functions.
Bike rack options and fitment
Select your rack under Bike Rack Type. Mounting brackets and hardware vary by rack, so confirm your model and available clearance before ordering.
- 1Up: Standard or Equip-D.
- Cravot: CyberRack E-Series or CyberRack E. Match the option to your rack model.
- Kuat: NV or Sherpa 2.0. For an NV, specify whether your rack is version 1.0 or 2.0 when ordering.
- GuideRail/AfterParty: Available as a mounting option.
- Hollywood Standard: Sport Rider HR1000Z, HR1450Z-R, HR1500 and HR1560, plus RV Rider HR1700. Hollywood Destination Ebike has a separate option.
- QuikrStuff Mach2: Choose with-ramp or without-ramp metal mount. The with-ramp version uses a longer bracket; the without-ramp version uses a shorter bracket.
- RockyMounts: GigaWatt.
- Saris: MHS.
- Swagman: E-Spec, Quad 2+2, Semi 2.0/4.0, Current, Dispatch, Escapee and Chinook.
- Thule: T2 Classic or T2 Pro, listed in the selector as Thule Classic and Thule Pro.
- Yakima: HoldUp two-bike, HoldUp four-bike or StageTwo. The two-bike and four-bike HoldUp versions use different mounting hardware.
- U-Bolt Mount: An additional mounting option for other applications. Confirm fitment before ordering; this is not a guarantee of universal compatibility.
Construction and hardware
- Durable black powder-coated license plate bracket made from 11-gauge (approximately 1/8-inch) cold-rolled steel or aluminum, depending on the rack application.
- Rack mounting uses corrosion-resistant 18-8 stainless steel socket-head cap screws, washers and nylon locknuts to help keep the bracket secure and resist loosening and rattling.
- The optional plate-light bracket is 1/8-inch aluminum or 13-gauge (0.089-inch) cold-rolled steel with a black powder-coated finish and 8-32 stainless hardware.
- Included M6 thumb screws and Phillips screws secure the plate through its top or bottom holes, depending on the mounting orientation.
- Accommodates most decorative plate frames. Check frame height and bicycle clearance before installation.

Designed by Kody Technologies as part of its bike rack lighting and license plate accessory range. This standalone version mounts directly to the bike rack and works without a Kody main light.

Installation and compatibility notes
This holder mounts directly to the rack. It cannot share the same mounting point with an existing Kody main light; Kody's separate Add-On Plate Holder is intended for that configuration. A main brake/turn-signal light bar, bike rack, license plate and demonstration Kody plate are not included.
Follow the Kody installation instructions for your rack. Check the plate's visibility and clearance with the rack both loaded and folded.

Manufacturer return policy
Kody Technologies lists a 30-day return policy. If you are not satisfied, contact us to discuss the issue and arrange a return. Items must be returned in like-new condition for a replacement or refund. The customer pays return shipping unless the order arrives damaged or defective, in which case Kody states it covers return shipping. The original shipping charge is not refundable.
