Both options install the same hidden hitch beam (SHR40001) and the same stainless steel latch block. The difference is whether you want towing capability now or just rack carrying — you can always upgrade to tow later with the conversion kit.

Why a Detachable Ball Mount Rides Better
The Combo Package uses a detachable ball mount that works differently from a typical square-tube receiver. When inserted into the stainless steel receiver block it creates a tight connection to the vehicle frame, eliminating the jerking and banging you get from square-tube hitches during starts and stops. Less wear on the drivetrain, and a smoother ride for everyone in the car.
Stealth Wiring Harness
The Stealth harness and controller monitor and duplicate the tail light functions rather than drawing current from the tail light circuits, which can throw vehicle faults on European platforms like the Discovery. The controller draws directly from the battery to avoid that entirely.

Not compatible with Discovery Sport, or with the optional full-sized spare tire.
Two wiring harnesses exist for this vehicle (SHT25007 and SHT25032) depending on whether your Discovery is pre-wired and which spare tire it carries. Both are the same price. Send us your VIN and we will confirm the correct one before we ship.
