Most brake controllers bolt under the dashboard and need a wiring harness run behind the trim. That is a tough job on a modern EV or crossover with a clean, minimal interior. The CURT Echo skips all of it. It plugs inline between your vehicle's 7 way connector and the trailer plug, then you set it up and run it from a free app on your phone.
A built in 3 axis accelerometer senses how hard you are slowing down and applies the trailer brakes in proportion, so stops feel smooth instead of jerky. Pull the plug when you are done towing and your cabin stays exactly as it came from the factory.

Requires: a 7 way RV blade connector on your vehicle with working 12V power, and a trailer with electric or electric over hydraulic brakes. Not for surge brakes.

Trucks with a factory built in brake controller usually do not need this.
Set up and adjust the controller only while parked. Do not use the app while driving.
Installation
Plug the Echo into your vehicle's 7 way connector, plug the trailer into the Echo, secure it with the included strap and pair it with the app using the PIN in the quick reference guide. Common Questions
Do I need a brake controller?
Most states require trailer brakes above a set trailer weight, and trailer brakes need a controller in the tow vehicle to work. Check your state's rules and your trailer's brake type.
How does it stay in place?
A locking tab holds it in the connector and the included strap keeps it secure. Unplug it and store it between trips if you like.
Does it work if my phone dies or disconnects?
Yes. The Echo keeps braking with the last settings you saved.
Will it fit my EV?
